We are proud to announce our newest experience project, ¡Hola, Mexico! Just opened on June, 30, 2017, ¡Hola, Mexico! is the culmination of two rounds and dozens of votes by our youngest visitors reflecting the country and culture they’d most like to see next in the Museum.
The underlying educational goals of this experience project will be to teach children about the rich diversity of Mexican cuisines, and to help children understand the interconnectedness of local farms to the dinner table in Mexico and in their own lives locally. We will create an environment within the museum in which children can play and explore Mexico by incorporating the farming experience and food preparation that surrounds the daily life of Mexican citizen in the Michoacan region. Children will be able to farm the food, learn how to prepare the food, and serve the food throughout this exhibit.
In order to allow children to have more opportunities to experience ¡Hola, Mexico!, the Museum will once again expand their summer hours. Beginning June 30, hours will be Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. Museum hours through June 19 are Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday, noon – 5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person; children under three are free. The Museum is located at 89 Warren Street in Glens Falls, New York.
