The World Awareness Children's Museum is so grateful to the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders from The King's School in Corinth, NY, for their incredible support! Through their craft sales, bake sales, and hot chocolate sales, these young philanthropists raised $357.50 for the museum. They also generously donated a basket of craft supplies, which will be put to great use in our hands-on exhibits and workshops. Their efforts help us continue our mission to inspire curiosity, understanding, and appreciation of cultural diversity. Thank you for making a positive impact in our community!

Join us every Thursday at 10:30AM for our popular "Kinder Rhythm Drumming Series"! This program inspires creativity, joyful play, and social interaction through the power of group rhythm-making. This includes singing, dancing, playing instruments, and moving to the beat. Come and join Susie Barber, national and international music, theatre, and movement educator and drum facilitator, for a morning of fun and adventure with hands-on rhythmic exploration for your child and the child in you! As the Zimbabwe proverb says, “If you can speak you can sing and if you can walk you can dance!”

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, and is observed by praying, reading the Koran, and fasting. The fasting is observed by refusing to eat or drink anything during daylight hours (children, the sick, and the elderly are excused from this tradition). Ramadan is also a time for generosity and kindness, and many individuals will raise money and donate items to those in need. This tradition ends with Eid ul-Fitr, the Festival of the Breaking of the Fast, where family and friends come together to eat and share gifts. It is observed February 28 - March 30 this year.

Come enjoy our hands-on exhibits like our Taiwanese Dragon Boat or our Japanese Tea Room, art and artifacts from around the globe, and a wide variety of programs and events. In this unique camp, kids will explore the drumming traditions of Africa, the Middle East, India, Indonesia, and Japan. This hands-on experience will spark creativity, inspire self-expression, and immerse children in the universal language of rhythm.
Each participant will learn the vocalization of rhythm through their spoken voice, through the voice of their body (movement), and through the voice of their drum/instruments.
This camp session is appropriate for children entering 3rd through 6th grade.

Today is the Lunar New Year, which marks the begin

Today is the Lunar New Year, which marks the beginning of a calendar year whose months are Moon cycles, based on the lunar calendar. Countries like South Korea, China, and Indonesia celebrate this occasion, and although they all observe it on the same day, every country has its own unique traditions and interpretations. This year is the "Year of the Snake", which last occured back in 2013!

Registration for our 2025 Summer Camp is now open! Sign your child up today for one of our 4 sessions in August that will see kids learn about space, play musical instruments, explore the city of Glens Falls, and get messy with potions. See our full list of sessions below.
