The World Awareness Children’s Museum is excited to announce its continued partnership with Hudson Headwaters Health Network, to provide craft workshops free of charge to children during the February 2018 school break week.

Workshops will run February 19th through the 23rd and will begin at 11 am.

The weekday workshop schedule is as follows:

Monday, February 19th: Chinese Lion Dance Celebration – The Chinese Lion Dance has been a Chinese New Year tradition for hundreds of years. We will be celebrating this iconic spectacle with dance, folktales and more!

Tuesday, February 20th: Mardi Gras Mask Workshop – Bring your festive imagination as we celebrate Mardi Gras by making our own Mardi Gras Masks! Colorful and bold, or sequenced and shiny, there are a variety of ways to make your own mask!

Wednesday, February 21st: Chinese New Year Puppet Workshop – We will continue our Chinese New Year celebration by making our own Dragon and Dog rod puppets, two of the more iconic symbols of the Chinese New Year!

Thursday, February 22nd: Olympic Flag Workshop – In recognition of the Olympics, we will be celebrating by making our own Olympic Flags! You can re-create a Olympic country’s flag or create your own, it’s up to you!

Friday, February 23rd: Recycled Bottle Cap Workshop – Together we will create a colorful mural of recycled ‘trash’, that promoted creativity as much as it does recycling! An assorted but limited supply of bottle caps will be available but please bring as many bottle caps as you can to recycle and create!

All workshops are free with the cost of admission ($5 per person, children under 3 enter free).
